DR Congo: Fair cobalt mining

Location: DR Congo | Process: Cobalt mining | Component: Batteries & accumulators | Supply chain: Raw material extraction

In 2022, we became the first e-bike manufacturer to join the Fair Cobalt Alliance (FCA) to promote fair working conditions in the cobalt supply chain. Why are we involved at SUSHI BIKES? Cobalt is crucial for the lifespan of batteries, like those in our e-bikes. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the main supplier of cobalt, the extraction conditions are often problematic, characterized by poverty, child labor and environmental pollution. We were on site to better understand these challenges and to motivate other manufacturers to join the FCA. Because we want to be part of the solution - for a more sustainable future worldwide.

Portugal: SUSHI BIKE 3.0 production

Location: Portugal | Process: Painting, assembly, packaging | Component: Bikes | Supply chain: Production
